Group just released an
interesting article summarizing a survey conducted with Children's Ministry workers and Parents. It's an interesting article, especially to read what parents ranked as the most helpful resources and tools that their church provides to help them train their children at home.
Face-to-Face conversations was #2,
with Family Events as the #1 most important tool provided by their Church. There are lots of thought provoking ideas in the article, so take a second to read it and see if you can't glean something useful from it for your children's ministry!
Group also conducted surveys for
Youth Ministry,
Women's Ministry, and
Volunteer Ministry so if these are your areas, be sure and grab a cup of tea and take a second to read what they've found.
And this all got me thinking? Has anyone every put out a survey to the parents in their church? Or even asked for suggestions? I know that
as a parent I've never been asked, and
as an AWANA leader and SS teacher, I've never even thought to ask the parents how I could help them best. (Sheesh, I feel like a lump of old mashers, just stinking up the kitchen trash!)
Maybe it's time to plan some monthly "Parties" where the whole family is invited........
Does anyone do something like this already?
How to you connect with the parents of your children?
