How do you make original mini books with clip art on it? Meaning,

how do you decide or make the shape of the mini book. I just watched the Little House video and the mini books are SO nice. As Valerie goes thru each mini book, I see clip art on the front of each mini book.

Well, I have software with clipart but I do not understand how do you line up the clipart with the shape of the mini book? I hope that makes sense.

For example, there is an octagon shaped mini book with Winter on the front. Are you arranging the clipart in a certain order on the software page, then using a template shape to trace over the paper/clipart with marker, THEN (whew!) cut it out?

How about the orange book with the gun? Are you just lining up the clipart, in this case with text underneath the clipart where you can make a fold between them. Thus, coming up with an accordian fold mini book?

If this does not make sense, don't blame me LOL. It's 6:30am with a 4yo sitting on my lap as I type!

Hmmmm? I'm not sure, I don't have those programs? I use adobe photoshop to make things.

Anyone else here?

Well, could you possibly tell me what technique/method you use in photoshop? The programs I use may be similar.

Perhaps, I could just follow your concept in my programs. I don't know if that makes sense.

Do you have a draw function, like where you can make shapes and lines?

Yes, it does have a draw function.

Okay, using your line tool, or a square shape you can create your own templates.

I just make a square shape then paste a clipart picture onto the page and drag it untill it is inside the shape.

I'm not sure if you have the click and drag feature to line everything up, or make layers on top of one another. (i.e. I can put clipart on top of a shape and resize it so it fits inside.

If you don't have the ability to do this, then I'm not going to be much help because I'm not really sure how everyone else does it :)

I would assume they use a template and paste the picture in the right spot?

In Christ,

Ok, that is the idea/concept I was thinking about. I'll play around with it and see how it goes.

Thanks so much!
